Combat MG Mk II is our sustained-fire pick. A grip and muzzle brake are available without research. Its regular extended magazine holds 200 rounds, compared with 80 for special magazines.
Its Heavy Barrel does need research and addresses long-range damage. Keep regular ammunition if capacity and simple replenishment are your priority.
